Full-Time Machine Operator – 2 Needed – Second Shift
Job Description
A manufacturing company is offering immediate, full-time positions for Machine Operators who will be trained in the procedures and techniques of heading: the terminology, machines, general machine maintenance, preventive maintenance, calibration, and job setup. These are second shift positions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operates machine and maintains quality after setup by others, including stopping the machine when questions arise.
- Change minor perishable tooling, utilize usage sheets, and be familiar with the payoff and related equipment
- Install dies and punches into the machine and identify potential problems by reviewing progressions
- Read part drawings and properly complete process checks
- Perform cold form processing and job production including loading raw materials, aligning cutter, quill, and changing tooling
- Make all changes relative to wire size on payoff, auxiliary feed box, and feed box
- Operate forklift safely and possess a forklift license
- Complete training and understand all in-process inspections including SPC charting, and complete inspections on time, every time
- Train on and become familiar with ISO9001/IATF16949/ISO14001 processes and work instructions relative to heading
- Make minor adjustments to align transfer fingers to the die
- Utilize information which has been entered into the ERP system and accurately enter information
- Perform other duties and assignments as requested
Job Qualifications:
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- Must have completed manufacturing associate-cold form Level 1 training matrix
- Must have a mechanical aptitude, be familiar with and perform minor daily maintenance, and know the machine’s parts and terminology relative to machine tooling and adjustments in the die area
- Continue building toolbox and acquiring tools necessary to perform job responsibilities to preferred
- Must be familiar with out-of-control conditions and responses, become familiar with the proper use and maintenance of gages, and able to read part drawings and properly complete process checks
- Must have the ability to understand Environmental Policy, Environmental Aspects, their contribution to the Environmental Management System, and the implications of not conforming to our Environmental Management System
- Must understand our Quality Policy, Quality Objectives, their contribution to our Quality Management System, and the implications of not conforming to our Quality Management System
- Must be able to safely operate a forklift and possess a forklift license
- Must be computer literate with ERP knowledge
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
