Full-Time Supply Chain/Purchasing Agent

Job Description
A manufacturing company has an opportunity available for a Supply Chain/Purchasing Agent who will be responsible for supplier relationship management, sourcing, cost management, analyzing pricing models, cost of goods sold, review existing procurement and vendor strategy to ensure they align to the organization’s strategic objectives. This is a first shift position working from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Job Duties:
- Manage cost-saving initiatives through cross-functional collaboration with internal business teams to identify and capitalize on opportunities
- Analyze and improve vendor operations to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
- Negotiate contracts and leases to manage vendor relationships effectively
- Support the full strategic procurement cycle, including vendor and risk identification and selection, price negotiating and contracting
- Collaborate with internal departments such as sales, sales support, customer service and accounts payable, to ensure seamless coordination in procurement activities
- Continuously evaluate cost and manage to customer pricing model
- Conduct thorough market research to identify potential vendors and evaluate the services they provide
- Manage vendor selection processes, including evaluating submissions, and conducting vendor evaluations to ensure optimal partnerships
- Develop and institute Supplier Evaluation process
- Demand planning, supplier forecasting, and inventory management
- Perform other office duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant Purchasing/Supply Chain job experience
- Must have 2 to 5 years experience in procurement, quoting, analysis of chemical markets risk mitigation, or equivalent related experience
- Must have preferred knowledge of the global chemical industry and experience in critical 2nd sourcing
- Must have experience negotiating raw material cost, along with excellent negotiation and facilitation skills
- Must be able to perform demand planning, supplier forecasting, and inventory management
- Must be skilled in managing multiple projects and deliverables
- Must have excellent communication and organizational skills while taking initiatives, and working independently
- Must be proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be able to analyze and resolve issues while meeting quality, legal, and safety standards
- Must have an articulate, professional, and upbeat phone voice
