Full-Time CNC Waterjet Machinist – First/Third Shifts

Job Description
A manufacturing company is seeking CNC Machinists to support operations and engineering in the basic set-up and operating of CNC equipment in the Primary operations work cell to maintain and improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics for processes involving the conversion of foam and other materials into finished products, assemblies, and/or kits. There is an opening on both first and third shifts with training performed on first shift.
Job Duties:
- Produce parts per Process Control Plans and work order instructions
- Use manufacturing work orders to set-up and manufacture a product that meets quality requirements, recording measurements, and read drawings to ensure the production of conforming parts
- Inspect and verify work before submitting it for inspection, process non-conforming material procedures, and correctly and accurately complete all necessary paperwork to ensure compliance
- Develop a thorough and complex understanding of all aspects of the work cell and perform efficient and effective diagnosis and troubleshooting of routine or minor problem
- Process offsets and compensations; calculating requirements, including basic math
- Maintain specifications by observing machining operations, taking measurements, and detecting malfunctions
- Communicate issues and offer support during the troubleshooting process
- Monitor and report scrap daily, offer suggestion, document appropriate paperwork to ensure future production runs are aware of issues and/or non-conformances
- Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
- Monitor and maintain the integrity of the magnet system and keep communication boards up to date and accurate
- Perform all tasks in compliance with company safety and environmental policies and procedures and all applicable codes and standard practices
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred
- Must have two to three years of CNC manufacturing related experience
- Must have three years’ experience in manufacturing processing and troubleshooting
- Must have a mechanical aptitude with manual dexterity
- The ability to follow verbal and written instructions efficiently and effectively is needed
- Must be able to use basic tools and measuring equipment
- Must have strong communication, problem solving, process improvement, and conceptual skills
- Must be computer literate
- Must be organized, flexible, adaptable, and deadline focus
- Must have a high degree of accuracy when working with details and numbers
- Must have a solid math skills
- Must be able to observe all safety policies and procedures, use assigned Personal Protective Equipment, and promptly submit safety concerns
Only candidates that can pass a background check and drug screen will be considered.
$17 to $20/hr, based on experience
