Full-Time Controller
Job Description
A large company is seeking a Controller to assist in all aspects of company financial reporting, planning, and control. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Job Requirements:
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures and manage outsourced accounting functions
- Oversee the operations of the accounting and human resources departments, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives
- Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures
- Manage the MRP Software and make recommendations on new software
- Revise and implement Standard Operating Procedures and administer the company 401k
- Ensure that accounts payable are booked correctly, that all reasonable discounts are taken, and accounts receivables are collected within terms
- Ensure that bank reconciliations are completed monthly and required debt payments are made according to schedule
- Issue complete financial statements by the 15th day of the following month and coordinate the preparation of the annual report
- Oversee the administration of the company’s employee benefits program
- Process payroll every 2 weeks
- Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
- Coordinate the provision of information to external accounting firm for the preparation of annual balance sheet income statement & tax report annual audit
- Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must have Master’s degree (M.A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have proven knowledge of accounting regulations, practices and standards with the ability to handle large amounts of data
- Must be able to define problems, collects data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, interpret technical instructions, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations is needed
- Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Must have the ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations and mathematical operations
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and accounting software
- Must be able to comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and labor laws
- Trust and diplomacy are required, along with courtesy and tact
- Must exhibit a high level of confidentiality
