Full-Time Furnace Operator – Second/Third Shift

Job Description
A manufacturing company is seeking an individual to operate heat treating furnaces. There is an opening on both second and third shifts; however, training will be done on first shift.
Duties:
- Perform case hardening, tempering carburizing, annealing, normalizing, and quenching operations on a variety of production parts
- Use standard heat-treating charts, and utilize knowledge of heat-treating methods, equipment, and properties of metals where cycle time, temperature, and methods are prescribed
- Set-up, load, lift, operate, and unload all-case hardening, tempering, and vacuum furnaces
- Perform in process inspections of their semi-finished work in accordance with specifications called out on traveler/router that accompanies all work
- Move up to 40 pounds by hand in a continuous motion and use a crane or forklift above 40 pounds
Qualifications:
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- At least 1 year Heat Treat Furnace Operator experience is required
- Must have the ability to set-up, load, lift, operate, and unload all-case hardening, tempering, and vacuum furnaces
- Must have knowledge of heat-treating methods, equipment, and properties of metals where cycle time, temperature, and methods are prescribed
- The ability to perform in process inspections of their semi-finished work in accordance with specifications is needed
- Must be able to work with little supervision
- Must have the ability to move up to 40 pounds by hand in a continuous motion and use a crane or forklift above 40 pounds
- Must be able to work safely and efficiently at all times to ensure that quality requirements and productivity standards are being achieved
- Must have a strong work ethic with no attendance issues
Only candidates that can pass a background check and drug screen will be considered.
$16/hr, starting pay
