Full-Time Office Bookkeeper
Job Description
A manufacturing company is seeking an Office Bookkeeper to join their team. This is a first shift position working 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. with some Saturdays when necessary.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and organize office operations and procedures such as bookkeeping, payroll preparation, information management, filing systems, supplies requisitions, and other clerical services
- Maximize office productivity through proficient use of appropriate software applications
- Establish uniform correspondence procedures and stylistic practices
- Formulate procedures for systematic retention, protection, retrieval, transfer, and disposal of records
- Collects and researches data and keep records of financial transactions for establishment by performing duties listed below
- Maintain contact with customers and outside vendors
- Verify, allocate, and post details of business transactions to subsidiary accounts in journals or computer files from documents such as sales slips, invoices, receipts, check stubs, and computer printouts
- Summarize details in separate ledgers or computer files and transfers data to general ledger and processes daily credit card deposits
- Calculate employee wages from records or time cards and prepares checks for payment of wages and prepare withholding, Social Security, and other tax reports
- Perform a variety of general office duties personally or through appropriate delegation to others
Job Qualifications:
- Must have bookkeeping, payroll preparation, information management, filing systems, supplies requisitions experience
- Must have knowledge of accounting practices and principles
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks is required
- Must have strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve clerical and office-related problems in a timely manner
- Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment and manage competing demands
- Must be able to reconcile, balance accounts, and assist in monthly closings
- Must have the ability to begin each workday with a positive attitude and work to develop a sense of “team” in the office and across other departments
- Must have excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks
